My mission is to connect with patients and provide them support, healing, positive energy, confidence and love. I do this by helping them to feel ‘seen’ as an individual with unique needs and goals. This takes time and communication, which is why we schedule two hours for a new patient appointment and spend time reviewing photos and educating. What routines and habits help you prepare for, or recover from, a day’s challenges? Moving my body is a must; it helps me clear my head and feel refreshed and rejuvenated. I love being active outside, ideally playing a sport or taking a hike. On really busy days, I’ll find time to stretch or get a quick walk in. Even small doses can drastically change the way I feel. How do you respond to the challenges of being a woman in the health care field? A challenge for a lot of women, including myself, is ‘caring too much’ or, in other words, personally shouldering the burdens of our patients. I think this is actually a great gift, and I’ve learned to give it my all during office hours and then leave those concerns at the office so I can go home to my family without distraction. Personally, I’m juggling running a business, being a dentist and also being a mom and wife. I’m extremely blessed with a team of strong women around me and my two amazing associate doctors, Dr. Alexa Williamson and Dr. Shauna Fletcher. They bring energy and unique skills to the practice, and together we are able to collaborate about cases and share our patient base. What or who inspires you? My children inspire me. They are so enthusiastic and energetic, it makes me also want to see life through their view. They see me work hard at my profession and business, and I am honored to be a strong role model for them.
