But it’s still your best chance.” And there is one other thing, though it’s optional: Become an AHA volunteer. After all, it’s hard to keep bad habits when you’re around people and events that encourage better hearts. "We’re trying to make as much of a difference as possible in helping people lead longer and healthier lives," said Katie Schumacher, executive director at AHA Lowcountry.
