Boan is passionate about the brain and its influence on outlook and behavior. Using her mantra, “everything starts with the brain,” she positions leaders who struggle with stress, anxiety and lack of mental clarity to master their minds and conquer the chaos of life’s demands. By teaching them to develop what she refers to as “emotional wellness,” Boan helps individuals create a life they love. “Emotional wellness is a minute-by-minute practice, exercising your brain until your default reaction becomes what you want it to be instead of what it has been in the past,” explained Boan. She likens the practice to driving on a highway and hitting a roadblock. Instead of climbing over concrete blocks, she offers the driver an alternate exit, an avenue that moves past potential harm and creates a more positive path. Roadblocks vary by individual, but they include, among others, difficulty maintaining relationships, negative self-talk, an inability to connect with others and an apparent lack of empathy. Roadblocks can lead to job loss or stagnation, broken marriages, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem and more. “The only variable we can control is us,” said Boan. “My goal is to help clients reprogram the neural pathways that cause them to engage in toxic interactions. In their stead, I teach them skills that allow them to be in control under pressure, develop self-awareness and reach their full potential.” “Through my three signature programs, 'Take 5 to F.O.C.U.S,' 'Get Your Mind Right' and 'One More Time – My Magical Key to Success,' we look at the four pillars of mental fitness: biological, psychological, spiritual and social.” Boan begins with brain basics and defining mind-set to form new neural pathways that improve communication skills, eliminate limiting beliefs and develop positive success habits. By mastering these skills, clients create a solid foundation for their lives. Boan created “Take 5 to F.O.C.U.S.” to improve communication and control in personal and professional situations. By learning to pause, listen and think through their responses, Boan’s clients become more intentional and can better handle and resolve conflict. By focusing on what the other person is saying, repeating their statement to ensure comprehension and clarifying when necessary, those who master “Take 5 to F.O.C.U.S.” benefit from healthier dialogue and more profound connections. “Because our brains are individualized and shaped by our history and environment, communication is often experienced through past pain or trauma. Instead of experiencing interactions through preconceived notions, my clients regain control of their brains, thoughts, words and actions. They develop new neural pathways that allow them to attain maximum focus, clarity and peace in these moments,” she added. Boan insists that everyone can change their brain and attain emotional wellness. Her clients often tell her that their new neural pathways become their superpowers. She has made it her life’s work to help others master skills that lead them to new heights of personal and professional success.
