With recent renovations, their choices for movement, meandering and meditation have only grown. Franke at Seaside is introducing new and improved assets to their young retirees and those who are young at heart. “We have loved being part of the Mount Pleasant community for over 25 years, but that also brings about the need to update,” said Allison Macfie, the community outreach director at Franke at Seaside. As an extension of its commitment to creating an independent and comfortable experience, residents are now able to enjoy expanded dining options and a new lounge for happy hour in the Burges Center, which also offers a Courtyard Market and a daily coffee bar. The Wellness Center, located in the Burges Center building, has been expanded to include a large workout room for specialized classes. Embracing the BeWell philosophy, “bringing everyone wellness enrichment for a lasting life,” the Burges Center is equipped with cardiorespiratory and resistance machines and the highly-trained staff members to support residents in their fitness activities. Residents may also choose to have a personalized wellness plan crafted with their specific goals in mind. With 42 acres of campus, in addition to space for bocce, residents have their choice of taking a swing of their mallet on the croquet lawn or strolling down the walking trails. “The putting green is also a popular place for residents to enjoy friendly competition,” added Macfie. “We also have a dog park for our furry family members to enjoy playing outside.” The campus also features Rodenberg Hall, where church services are offered each Sunday. “We are a small community on campus who share lots of laughter and good times together,” said Macfie of the many spaces on campus that cultivate moments of togetherness. Alongside the plentiful pastime offerings and opportunities for social connection, Franke at Seaside offers support for the changes that come with aging. “We want residents to move to Franke at Seaside and stay for many years. Our environment allows for residents to be independent while also having access to assisted living, memory support and skilled nursing when that time comes,” said Macfie, adding that Franke recently renovated its assisted living suites. The physical improvements are backed by a team passionate about serving and giving residents every opportunity to thrive. “I love being able to work with family members for years as they move through the continuum of care,” said Macfie. “It provides consistency and builds trust in our team to provide excellent care throughout their life.” A COMMUNITY CARING AND CAREFREE: FRANKE AT SEASIDE For more information, visit frankeatseaside.org.
