I played basketball and tennis since I was 7 and played for the Middleton High School basketball and tennis teams. I have had many foot and ankle injuries in my youth. I was born with flat feet and was first introduced to the field of podiatry by a family friend in Charleston. Dr. Kalinsky, a retired podiatrist, treated me for various foot and ankle ailments. He made me custom foot orthotics for my flat feet that were fitted for my basketball and tennis shoes. I worked in Dr. Kalinksy’s office in college and assisted him in some surgery cases. My best friend growing up, Dr. Adam Brown, played basketball along with me since the age of 7. We played high school basketball together at Middleton, went to College of Charleston together and are now partners at Carolina Foot & Ankle Specialists.” HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN IN BUSINESS OR BEEN WITH THE COMPANY? “I moved back to Charleston in 2006 and joined up with Dr. Brown at Carolina Foot & Ankle Specialists. I started the Mount Pleasant location for CFAS from scratch and have steadily built up our second office location since that time.” WHAT ARE YOU MOST PASSIONATE ABOUT OUTSIDE OF WORK? “I am most passionate about family, running and taekwondo. Running and taekwondo are such good outlets for me to clear my mind and keep proper balance in my life. My wife and my children, Anna, age 12, and Emilie, age 7, participate in a family taekwondo class on Monday nights at the Isle of Palms Recreational Center.” DR.
